January 20th, 2010 No comments

We’re proud to announce the return of Australosurfecus to the Peach District!  On Saturday Feb. 6th we’ll be playing Peachi Gras, a concoction of music, film, improv and more.  The festival goes from 3pm until 2am, with Australosurfecus tentatively scheduled to play a 45-minute set around 4 or 5 pm.

We’ll post another update once the official schedule is finalized, but for now mark your calendars on Feb. 6th for an afternoon of instrumental madness!

Holiday Benefit Show Update

January 13th, 2010 No comments

Happy New Year to our fellow simians!  Hope 2010 finds you well – the three of us are excellent, thank you, and wanted to start the year off right by thanking you from the bottom of our cardiopulmonary systems for making our first Holiday Benefit Concert such a success.  All told, you helped raise more than $200 in donations for the Mid-Ohio Foodbank, which will help them as they continue their work helping Ohioans in need.

The show was a lot of fun – everything from the old standards like Walk Don’t Run and Wipeout to our freshy-fresh new songs went over really well.  Of particular note were two of our latest originals, The Apes of Wrath, which featured a pounding double display of tribal percussion as our own Low Frequency Echo-communicator joined up with The Drumbuie on the drums, and Butch Cassowary and the Sundance Echidna, which dropped everyone right into the middle of a gunslinging western epic.

Good times, good friends, good surf, and thanks again for making the show such a success!
